Rearcross U-13's 0 - Holycross 3

Rearcross U-13's played host to a strong Holycross outfit and went under on a three nil score line in this League fixture played at Rearcross FC Grounds on Saturday morning. The Glenbane outfit applied the early pressure and Cathal Kennedy had to be sharp to save at the near post inside the opening five minutes. The play swung to the other end where Stephen Rochford was on target, however Holycross custodian Eoin Craddock was equal to the effort. The visitors edged ahead on the nine minute mark when Ben Hennessy finished from in front of goal. Rearcross might have been two in arrears four minutes later, however Stephen Rochford paced back to cut out the danger. Aidan Bryan and Stephen Rochford combined late in the half, however the resultant shot was saved. The Reaboys were unlucky not to draw level seconds after the resumption when Stephen Rochford threaded through to Cathal Kennedy, however the low drive was saved on the line. Holycross counter attacked and a challenge on the edge of the box saw the referee pointing to the spot, but Colm Lenihan got down well to save. The visiting side piled on the pressure after this with Paul Nolan to the fore for Rearcross, however Stephen Quinlan made it two nil midway through the half and then Gary Dwan wrapped it up late on with a well worked goal.
